Do you know that feeling when someone is looking at you from behind and you turn around, I have that with certain trees! Trees are of course, alive, therefore why wouldn't they communicate. They inform each other when there is a threat and damage caused to them. Just because they do not have vocal cords does not mean that they do not communicate. Their language is much more sophisticated than ours because it has been around a hell of a lot longer and will still be around when we are gone. When I began painting this piece, it was one of those mornings when I arrived at the studio feeling angry because of the grave impact that we are having on Nature. I needed to let this out.
