RED TAPE

This painting is a self-portrait and I expect a little disturbing. I have always had a resistance to bureaucracy. No matter what one does in life and no matter how hard you try not to get caught up in red tape, it is inevitable that you will. We have created a monster, and the red tape is getting tighter. It's like death by a million papercuts and it removes us further and further away from the natural world. Living between Europe and Australia it became acutely apparent how the world is not set-up for people with flexible lifestyles. Governments are set-up for people living in one place for taxes of course. I understand that they need to keep track somehow, but with so many digital nomads these days, they need to catch-up.
