"Now you see it, now you don't"… Perito Moreno glazier in Patagonia. Mass Loss: Some reports estimate the glacier has lost nearly 2,000 meters of its margins and approximately 2 square kilometers of total area in just the last seven years. Something so incredibly beautiful disappearing in real time. The solid ice seems to glow blue as if it has a light within it. Not an easy task for any skill level, nevertheless I felt compelled to try and capture the grand monumental beauty of the glacier, still standing proud, yet so fragile. Make your own mind up about the man and the penguin... This large painting gave me an RSI, but I think it was worth it.
