GRAHAM’S KITCHEN WALL MURAL

The owner of the restaurant is Graham Mee, a Michelin Star chef and originally hails from Liverpool, England. He had recently purchased his own restaurant in De Pijp, the cultural hub of Amsterdam. At the time I had an Interior Design business and agreed to design his interior even though he had a very small budget. The furniture including the bright red chairs that must stay; therefore, I was challenged to design around them. Graham also asked me if I would paint a mural on the back wall in the main dining area. I love painting murals and jumped at the chance! The brief was to paint a cityscape featuring a collage of iconic buildings from Liverpool and Amsterdam". I used bright colors because the room was quite dark and so that it worked with the bright red chairs...my aim was that patrons had fun identifying the buildings.
