The petals on this bouquet look so silky, you want to touch them. The rich oil paint glides over the aluminum and dries leaving a smooth tactile glaze. Because the paint doesn't soak into the substrate, it maintains its vibrancy, and I just love Magenta and Phyllo Blue together. The paint was thickly scraped over the panel using a palette knife alla prima. Sadly, a real bouquet fades away, but gladly this never will!
This is one in which the camera definitely does not capture the depth in the lustrous paint which is why a few shots were taken in sunlight to try to show it in a better light.
