This was painted before I got news that my lovely friend Katelijne was pregnant. Upon review, it is the lovely, serene Kat and her ever so thoughtful daughter Lola. The playfulness in the image is exactly how I see them together. I started off just moving texture around on the canvas and then had a look at the shapes of the texture and what could be formed from them.
