HIDE, HIDE, HIDE

This painting is another one of those that painted itself. The light-colored marks were fast random marks scraped on with a palette knife. As I was doing this, I began to think about carnal ways in which humans are fixated with sex and sexual encounters. Perhaps it was due to a podcast I was listening to at the time. As I turned the painting upside down which I often do with abstracts, some of the marks made human like forms, and a few seemed to make-up an Edward Scissorhand type hand with blades. It started to take on a sinister feel and therefore I painted the face peering out from behind.
