Hello, I’m May. Art has always been my way of expressing what words cannot. Every stroke, every shade, every piece I create carries a part of me, my emotions, my reflections, and my stories.
I do not restrict myself to a specific ‘style’ or media because a creative person can turn their creativity to many things. It is usually commercial drivers that force a creative to find a niche.
My Abstraction pieces are an outlet for my raw emotions as I work through the chaos and calm.
The Consequential category helps me to unleash thoughts that I am unable to express verbally.
The Nature category is a homage to Mother Nature as I continuously strive to do her justice.
With Portraiture, I hope to capture the pure essence of the being.
Via Murals, I aim to bring beauty to a surface, engage the community and evoke emotion.
Through all of my works, I hope to share not just visuals, but feelings, something you can connect with in your own way.
“Imagination Is More Important Than Knowledge”

My artistic journey began the day I was born… It’s a way of looking at the world through a different lens. In-fact, my mum always joked that I was born wearing rose tinted glasses.
Alas, that pure childish joy of creating slowly gets replaced by expectations of life, especially if you were born in a small Lancashire town.
That said, I have been very fortunate to keep art and creation close in all of my venture’s.
My very first job at the age of 19 was to hand paint designs for textile prints and I couldn’t quite believe that I was being paid for this joy!
My aptitude for colour was apparent early on and I landed into fashion design which nudged me blindly into corporate life. A round peg in a square hole indeed, but a character-building life experience all the same. It enabled me to travel the world although, I had to fight to hold onto those rose-tinted glasses!
In my working life I have moved through graphic design, textile design, clothing design and development, interior design, building development and retail visual design.
Whilst grateful for all of my ‘growing experiences’, some years ago, I finally took the leap of faith and realized my life’s passion and goal to be a fulltime artist.
One could say that I have come ‘full circle’ and finally landed right where I was always meant to be.
